Scripts

Stellarium can be scripted using ECMAScript/JavaScript and an API. Scripts can be written, edited and run in an integral console (toggled by the [F12] key, together with [fn] key on MacOS), or written and edited in an external editor, copied/saved to the Stellarium script directory (check documentation for location). Scripts are saved with a .ssc (Stellarium SCript) or .inc (INClude for e.g. configuration or data in ECMAScript/JavaScript format) extension.

Own scripts

Own SSC scripts for Stellarium. These are rather complex scripts and not intended or suitable for beginners to learn SSC (Stellarium scripting API and ECMAScript/JavaScript) or Stellarium script management. Scripts are embedded in HTML documents for proper character encoding, so copy contents from web viewer and paste into the Stellarium script console.

• MZ Sky Tour 1 (animates how the starry sky changes in a year and in a day, and zooms in constellations)
• MZ Visual Objects List and required include (marks and lists deep sky objects from e.g. the Messier, Caldwell, NGC, IC, Barnard and Lynds catalogs, poorly documented)
